Is therapy the right choice for me?
We definitely believe so. We can all use some support. Even therapists see therapists. It is best to start therapy before the issue becomes bigger and harder to handle. We work with individuals ages 2 ( with parents) and up.
How long is a session and what is it like?
A session lasts between 55 to 60 minutes. The first 2 to 4 sessions will work on building trust and assessing the needs of our clients. We value each of our clients and we ask them to be an equal partner in their therapy journey. We introduce a variety of tools to engage and enhance the therapeutic experience.
Do you use prayer in session?
ARTE believes that a client's relationship with prayer and spirituality is a private one. If clients wish to bring prayer into their session, we welcome it and support it to the best of our ability.
Lilly is of Christian/Catholic faith and will ALWAYS respect your decision whether or not you incorporate faith/spirituality in your therapeutic journey.
How is Spanish and biculturalism integrated in session?
Clients who are comfortable speaking Spanish or expressing their emotions in Spanish are welcomed to do so. We highly value bilingualism and believe emotions can be stored in any language. We also welcome the expression of other languages and will hold space for clients who express this need.
Lilly is a first generation Mexican American and learned English at the age of 5. Growing up along the Texas-Mexico border and having worked in Southern Arizona along the Sonoran border, she learned the importance of providing bicultural/bilingual psychotherapeutic services. Clients thrive when they sense acceptance without perceived judgment and their cultural norms are understood and valued.
