What is an Immigration Evaluation?
A psychological immigration evaluation is a thorough assessment conducted by a licensed mental health professional. This evaluation is often required in immigration cases where mental health or trauma may be a contributing factor to your immigration status or eligibility, such as in asylum claims, waivers of inadmissibility, or family-based petitions. The evaluation helps to document psychological symptoms or conditions that may support your immigration case.
Asylum Applications: Psychological evaluations to support claims of fear of persecution due to past trauma or emotional distress.
Waivers of Inadmissibility: Evaluations to assess how mental health issues might affect your admissibility to the country.
Family-based Immigration: Addressing psychological conditions or trauma in family reunification cases.
Humanitarian Relief: Supporting claims for humanitarian protection based on psychological harm experienced in your home country.
Specialized Support for Vulnerable Populations: Evaluations for individuals who have experienced significant trauma, such as survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, or persecution.
